However, due to the shift toward an era demanding productivity, the time-consuming and skill-intensive process of core wrapping gradually declined, and the number of specialized artisans significantly decreased.
Today, the art of core wrapping, which is fading from the world, is being preserved by a sole craftsman at the “Core Wrapping Specialized Factory” here in Sabae. Through the hands of this artisan, the SHINBARI series is brought to life in a beautifully dynamic way. To further emphasize its artistic nature, each frame is given a unique expression. Some have sharp angles, some are more rounded, and even within the unified shape, the way each one is carved brings out its individual character.

Though delicate and precise, not a single one is the same. When the artisan’s emotions, philosophy, calculations, and even coincidences converge, the “uneven” beauty born emerges in the glasses. Glasses that are like works of art, created with sparing time and effort, have been born.
